Thank you Romek. This snake was right in the middle of the trail and was slow getting away from me. So, I took about six shots of it. This was probably the best shot of the series.

As it turns out king snakes are not venomous. But you have to be very careful because they look very similar to coral snakes that are very venomous.
Yeah, I have no doubt this king snake was looking for a queen snake, and the poor guy ran into me.

I agree. I had seen king snakes in this area before, but they always got away from me too fast. This guy was really mellow and took his time.
