Great beautiful route, two full ropes, one on ascend, second on summit ridge traverse. Rough weather conditions. Whiteout in the morning during approach. Normal visibility, but very strong winds during the climb. Descend by normal route.

Risky ascent and pleasant descent
Nice climb. In general, the weather was OK, but the wind was ice-cold and snow firn was hard as rock. Have to mention, that it would be smarter to retreat, as we didn't have ice-axes and crampons (we didn't expect such weather), but we did it anyway. We were lucky, that when we were on the summit, the wind had blown away all clouds and Sun had begun to melt the snow, so the descent was much less dangerous.

Nice waether, good condtions. In these time it was much snow on Zawrat pass and Swinica, but Koscielec was free of snow or ice. On foot from Zakopane the route takes almost all the day.

I was only 15 getting alone to the top of Koscielec ...the day was dark and gloomy , the legend of Mountain so strong in my mind ...unforgetable High Tatra debut !

August and Maythe May was better - some snow, lots of sun (sunhat a must to avoid sunstroke) but far fewer hikers

Route Climbed: A northern way from the Black Lake by green and black trails Date Climbed: 15 June 1992A climbing was during a very good weather; some parts of Tatras was still covered by snow.
