Kriváň (2495 m) seen from Sedielková kopa (2061 m)

Kriváň (2495 m) seen from the summit of Sedielková kopa (2061 m) on a very windy day. East wall of Kriváň is nice from here. Monticule in the left (south) ridge of Kriváň is Malý Kriváň (2334 m). There are at least two skialpinistic routes down the wall seen on the photo. Date of the photo: 13th october 2007

Tomas...

Where do these winds come from! You
apparently have adapted well to the
mountains and their storms! Have you
looked at Sp-member 'Ivona's' photos
of the northern side of these
mountains. You & Ivona should definately
"get together" to compare notes!!!

Re: Tomas...

Hi Larry, I don't think I've adapted well to storms in mountains, it is still something scary for me. But you are quite right, I've become to have something like 6th sense for weather in Tatras. If I followed the plan for that day - to follow Furkotska valley to north - I would get into the centre of the storm, so I ascended this nice summit on south edge of crotch of Ostra (2349 m) mountain. Thanks to the operative change in hike plan, I could see Kriváň from this angle. I plan to go for some hike with Ivona, she's great climber and polish Tatras is both great temptation and unknown for me! Cheers Tomas :)
