Here is a description of the closest cliff to Paris.
Located 100km West of the Capital, La Roque gives the opportunity to climb on an usual mixture of chalk and flint.
The rock is quite solid though. And some routes offer some very technical moves.
With a beautiful scenery on La Seine, you will climb in a quiet atmosphere.
, take Motorway A13 west bound.
At exit 17, go on to road D316 north bound up to Les Andelys
, then follow La Seine for a few kilometers to reach the cliffs.
, easy peasy ;o)
You can either sleep on top of the cliffs, but not very comfortable.
Otherwise there is a nice camp site nearby :
Camping de l'Ile des 3 Rois
Ile Trois Rois
27700 LES ANDELYS
Tel : 02 32 54 23 79
The cliff is almost 10 kms long with several areas to climb on.
The entire cliff is made of chalk with flint inserted in it.
Mostly South oriented.
Usually you will find only 1 pitch to climb, sometimes up to 3.
