Labeled Panoramas from Trailmaster Peak

Labeled Panoramas from Trailmaster Peak

On a June 25, 2014 trek to Cirque Peak from the Cottonwood Pass trailhead, I got completely taken with all the wildflowers. So, I let the other hikers go and I settled for Trailmaster (12336 on USGS Topos). The flower pix and these two views made the shortened climb well worth while.

Great panorama

Love the attention paid to labels. I tried summitting Trailmaster this past weekend in glorious fall weather, but had to settle for slightly higher Peak 12417. Traded views of Horseshoe and Whitney for ones of the Kaweahs and Kern Plateau. Also saw a bighorn ram near the summit!

Re: Great panorama

12417 is loving called "Anderson 1" by the folks in the China Lake Mountain Rescue Group (CLMRG. Liz Anderson was the first female member of the Group...in the 60's I believe. I've never seen a Bighorn on that side of Cottonwood Basin, but frequently do on the other side.

Re: Great panorama

Thank you for your reply, Paul! That's very interesting to hear on both counts. Definitely helps with understanding this area... not too much out there online.
