Lady Washington, Longs Peak, and Storm Peak

The novelty of the route less traveled. This photo is taken from the North Longs Peak Trail on the west side of Battle Mountain; the standard Longs conga line goes up the East Longs Peak Trail. The trail circles down a beautiful bowl above treeline. Looking back from this trail groups Lady Washington, Longs Peak, and Storm hiding over a rise. Meeker normally appears in any photo of the Longs group, and Storm King is an afterthought for everyone, but from this angle their importance is reversed. August 2009.
