After a wild trip in November yielded the most memorable campground camping of my life, but no summits, I returned with family to explore some ridgrtop boulders as well as this easy and enjoyable peak.

I hadn't expected much from 'the easiest peak on the SPS list,' but his peak really surprised me. It was a beautiful day in a cool area.

Lamont Peak Trail
Did this with MD after 4 hrs of sleep in car on Canebrake rd.
We initially had the intent of doing Spanish Needle and/or Sawtooth Peaks after Lamont, but instead slept for two hours on the summit. Very nice.

Climbed with brother Jon. For those not sure if they've hit the right point, there is an ammo box containing summit registers that is chained to a point near the top of the summit block. We saw similar chained ammo boxes on other peaks in the area. Summit approach

Hoofed up the trail with my friend, Jim, as we started a traverse over to East Lamont and Spanish Needle. Had thought about Lamont Point instead, but were tired of sidehilling and ridge running and rain and hail and... nice walk out Lamont Meadow afterward.

Nice hike, with not too much smoke.Hiked via the Lamont Peak trail. Beautiful, windy day during which the morning smoke thinned considerably.
