First "peak" I ever summitted  Sucess!

Climbed with a friend of mine from the ferry up to the top. Took us 4 hours or so, I remember being exhausted by the time I reached the summit and was out of commission with pleuritic chest pain for a few days afterwards. Great times!

Route Climbed: East coast to the Big Buhda Date Climbed: September 2002, August 2003  Sucess!

Great way to spend a layover. It's the Island with Hong Kong's new airport. You can start from just south of Discovery Bay or half way across the island. Gotta love the Brits for the design and the Hong Kongers for the muscle to lay the endless stairways. And as always you can excape the summer heat up on the peak. You'll have a solitary experience!

Had a blast in Hong Kong during yet another Port Call visit. The scenery was absoultely beautiful from high a top our vantage point and a definate break from the city and the Aircraft Carrier! The summer heat can be quite brutal. Between the heat and humidity a couple of climber in the group had problems during the ascent.

Route Climbed: Lantau Trail via Ngong Ping Date Climbed: March 7, 1999  Sucess!

The ferry / bus ride out and hike was a nice change of pace after staying in HK city for a week. Nice trip. At Ngong Ping a small Gatorade (20 oz?) cost as much as the bus ride from Mui O or the ferry ride from Central. Some additional photos.
