Hiked the main trail  Sucess!

Hiked it also in 2001. It was crowded in 2001, but that's to be expected. I loved the wildflowers in the area.

Mt lassen was the very first snow peak I ever climbed and twenty years later i am back. It was a heavy snow year in northern california. I began my adventure by scrambling along the ridgeline between Mt diller and the eagles nest. I was gazing up at lassen admiring her beauty. The park still caught in a snowy inbrace. As the sun went down I anticipated my hike up the mountain in the morning. I set out at six in the morning with just my walking sticks. I was just treating this like a hike. I found out rather quickly that at this time of the morning lest I forget, the snow is still frozen. I wasn't going to turn around It's just a hike. It was pretty slick going but not that steep. the sun Had melted out large sections of trail about midway up the mountain . Towards the summit area the trail begins a traverse out onto the sloping scree field. It was here that my ice ax would have been handy but nooo this was just a hike. I enjoyed a scramble up a 3rd class variation to the summit. The dacite plug of the summit pinnacle is nice and solid. I found a spot out of the wind and enjoyed the views and some lunch .

I tired my girlfriends out the day before with an *accidental* 20 mile hike. Had to do this one alone. ;-)

Great mountain for beginners to get a taste of altitude. Quick up down and just a mountain to keep the legs and mind in mountain mode

A nice hike and a chance to experience another one of the cascade volcanoes. While not as difficult at it's relatives to the north, Lassen is still an amazing peak with awesome geologic features in the park below and amazing views off the summit. A little on snow hiking is required near the summit but nothing technical.

Took normal trail to summit area. Climbed class 3 variation to the top. Nice peak with great views. Would have been too easy following class 1 route to the top.

My wife Katie and I hiked here on a beautiful day that yielded great views of Mount Shasta. This was a beautiful but crowded hike, and we had to share the summit with some "take the urban kids to the mountains" group that left lunch trash all over the place up there. At least the leaders took charge of cleaning up after we pointed the mess out (as the chief slobs headed down the trail).

My first AT trip. Skied about half way up the S Ridge until my fledgling skills ran out of steam and then hiked the rest on soft snow. Retrieved skis, traversed across and skied down the S Face. Perfect weather. Good route to cut my teeth on.

Me, my wife and our 8 month old son made the hike up a day after hiking Brokeoff Mt. Were worried about altitude sickness with our son, but never had a problem with it. Was a very easy climb.
