Almost a Ranger  Sucess!

Climbed it several times, quickest was 52 minutes on the trail, longest was skiing in and slogging up the south face. Was to be a backcountry ranger after winter in Death Valley but got frost bite on 5 toes on Denali that precluded me from wearing any type of footwear for patroling the trails.

standard route  Sucess!

Hiked Lassen one day after success on Shasta in moderate snow. Visibility was poor, so I was disapointed to miss out on the views. Be sure to visit the true summit! It's a nice little scramble.

Lassen four times  Sucess!

I climbed the south side twice in very windy conditions (up to 70 mph) Once with my dad at age 6, and once at age 7 with my direct family and my aunt and her friend.

On my third time, I climbed in may 07 in the snow. Fourth time, moonlight in august 07.

Redemption  Sucess!

Failed to summit one month prior. Great day on the mountain summiting before 10 am and glissading back to the parking lot before noon. Why don't the NPS have the road open til the parking lot I do not know?

Snowboard Descent  Sucess!

An epic ride!!!! After a 2 hrs hike up the road, which had way cool 20 ft snow walls, and trail we were on top. Then an awesome descent that was super sunny and slushy spring goodness. It did kinda suck hiking out, but otherwise well worth it.

South Face - Snow Climb  Sucess!

Did a midnight/full moon snow ascent of the south face, finishing up on the trail just below the summit. Fantastic!

Slog  Sucess!

Though the views were nice, this was a hot, dusty slog.

Lassen Peak Trail  Sucess!

A bit crowded on the trail. The summit was well worth the short, relatively easy, scramble.

Bord one day  Sucess!

I was off work from Fire Fighting in Redding and had nothing else to do so I went for a little hike. It was great.

Hiked from the Road  Sucess!

The parking lot is at around 8300 feet, but unless you want to walk from Arcadia, or the park entrance, this road does alot of the work for you. The view of Shasta was nice, though succumbed to the usual summertime haze looking west/south. Cool and refreshing on to, though.

Lassen  Sucess!

Hiked up with my 12-year-old daughter. Nice start, then she quickly decided it was too hot, too tiring, too boring. Finally bribed her with an offer to buy some Pokémon cards, which did the trick. Easy hike thereafter. She then wanted photos atop every high point on the peak, to make sure she had a picture "at the top." Of course, she still remembers this as the "Lassen Death March."

Gettin' paid to climb  Sucess!

I was on a work trip in Lassen NP and it just so happened my birthday was that same week. So, as a present my supervisor let myself and the rest of my crew take half the day to climb up Lassen peak. The trail was surprisingly short and easy, and the views up top were spectacular! Afterwards my friends and I ran back down the trail. Later, after working the rest of the day, we drove into chico for some well-deserved food and beers. Not a bad b-day if you ask me!

Lassen Peak Trail Solo  Sucess!

I thought it would be a great climb with few people.
Instead, I ran into many people. The weather was good,
and the views were greater.

Lassen Peak Summit  Sucess!

First time my father and I had summited Lassen Peak, and got it done on our first try! Great views from the top. It was cold and windy on the summit that day but it was still a great experience!

Lassen Peak  Sucess!

I love Lassen NP. Camped couple nights, had one of my most memorable campfires here. Lassen peak was a stroll, views were good; Shasta was cloudy and the valley was a full of smog. Glad to be were the air was fine.

Lassen NP is gorgeous. Took the quick & easy way up (Lassen Peak Trail). Windy as heck at the top but awesome views.

Lassen Peak  Sucess!

This was the last peak of our trip to the Cascades. It is a popular mountain with a nice trail and great view from the summit. We hiked to Bumpass Hell later in the day.

The Best Part of California  Sucess!

I always have been enchanted by the Lassen. It's one of California's best kept secrets. And it doesn't end with the park. I took my sister up the mountain. It was our first peak together. Now she wants to do Kilimanjaro. One day...
