Leaving traces in gold one...

Leaving traces in gold one late winter afternoon, as Sun leaned towards distant horizon, on Veliki Stirovac terrace below Sveto Brdo (1751m) on South Velebit. In front is silhouette of Jerkovac (1250m) (described on Paklenica page). Photo: Aleksandar Gospic

super setup

Mt. Velebit was always interesting to take great pictures.

You beat everyone in documentation about it.

Thanks.

Antarctica

Is this picture taken on approach to South pole or on return trip?

One more miracle from Velebit!

:-)

Re: Antarctica

Thanks David and Sven, very much! Maybe Sven there is not enough snow to remind of Antarctica :-)

Re: Antarctica

But I must add, and that is what you Sven called 'miracle from Velebit', that Velebit amazes me constantly. It has only 1757m, it is just above the sea (not good for snow) and only half way between Equator and pole and yet you can really experience Alpine atmosphere with lot of snow like it is on high mountains. Many times when I'm up there in winter I joke in amazement with my friend how this can't be Velebit, this must be Himalaya.

Re: Antarctica

Some friends were on Lubenovac for New Year and I have seen photos from V. Kozjak - I said they have K2 "look and feel" (but some 7000 m lower than real K2).
