Let the Long Sierra Summer Begin!

SP members closed 2014 and opened 2015 on Cardinal Mountain. Most years, this would be a great ski trip, but it is more like June already, so I hiked and scrambled.

It could be worse ...

You could be living here in central Arizona,
where there's NO snow.

Re: It could be worse ...

True, I'll be missing views of lingering snow this summer and fall. For the sake of my dogs staying cool, I'll have to do hikes with lots of lakes. Maybe it will snow more next year so I feel like going to the desert for spring break instead of grabbing the last gasps of snow. I need to get down into that big canyon in Arizona someday too.

Yep! Gonna be hittin' that up soon. :) The views off Cardinal are just stellar.

Re: Is that

Indeed! Taboose is more scenic than I realized and the views from Cardinal were some of the best I've experienced. If I had more time over there soon or were much of a backpacker, I'd do Arrow. Williamson via George Creek was calling to me once I adjusted some to the altitude and long hikes after months away, but I don't regret choosing this easier option at all.
