Great Views, Beautiful Hike  Sucess!

Spring Break trip 2014. This was probably my favorite hike in the whole monument.

nice day  Sucess!

Hiked up with some friends from work while in Grand Junction. Very hot out but great views once on the very top. Scramble was a fun reward at the top.

Well Worth the Climb  Sucess!

Great climb! This can be accessed two different ways, and both are phenominal. Just don't go up when the wind is really rip-roaring, can be a little nerve wracking!

Special Place  Sucess!

Watched the sunset on the top. Feel the history while your there. Another hidden gem of the Monument. I'll be back soon.

Liberty  Sucess!

March 19 2015

Shaylee, Kimberly, and I make the hike up to Liberty Cap from Grand Junction. I made the final climb up to the summit; it is a bit harder now that the metal ladder has been removed.

I was dragging a bit because I wasn't feeling well. Kim and Shaylee had to wait for me several times.

April 25 2009

Kim, Shaylee, Kessler and I headed out to climb the Liberty Cap after church in the morning. We took the long and steep (but scenic) switchbacks up the Liberty Cap trail up to the base of the cap from Wildwood Drive. We climbed around to the east side of the summit block and ate lunch. Shaylee wanted to climb the crux pitch and old ladder in order to reach the true summit, but Kessler was too nervous to climb it.

I climbed the pitch with Shaylee and we stood on the summit for the awesome views before returning. By the time we got down, Kessler decided that if his little sister could so it then so could he, so I climbed the pitch with him as well.

After enjoying the views we returned down the longer Corkscrew Trail before returning home. It sprinkled slightly, but was a great trip.

Other

I have climbed the rock many other times as well.
