Little Animal Puts Big Question

Little Animal Puts Big Question

This is to be enjoyed/hated along with that one (or rather two) Hiking cats are OK, right?

Is this a real cat?

It looks like a fluffy toy to me.

Okay now, some one is pulling someone's leg here. But, I like it anyway. I am a liberal old fart.

Re: Is this a real cat?

Thanks very much for your comment and question, Marc.

As for the former, liberal/liberty is without doubt one of the best US assets although some are accusing "neoliberalism" of having led to today's worldwide crisis. To my mind, one might as well blame "neosocialism", or simply "neoethics". But as you put it, you're one of the old kind, just like myself, and I appreciate it:-).

As to the latter, I'm sorry but it's hard to give a definitive answer. The same goes for the questions I myself put along with this picture. Perhaps just a few facts:

1 My eyes have got poorer quite recently so they're as reliable as our (Polish) national currency (Poland, unlike Slovakia, hasn't adopted the Eurodollar), which has dropped approx. 50% against both the euro and US dollars in just about one month

2 This is a real photo, unlike that famous one

3 The kitten in the pic is not mine and I hadn't brought it there. I happen to prefer rabbits to cats.

4 There are a lot of cats on SP, and they seem to be breeding fast. BTW Please remember me to your neighbors' – how is he?

5 The picture was taken inside a national park where the lynx has been seen.

6 The animal (stuffed? with mice???), telling by where it is plus its coat color, might be a snow leopard cub (this would be the first sighting in Europe!)

7 I'd be keen to see pix/pages like this on one site, along with hiking/skiing/wildlife/butterfly (no flying butter though)/etc. pix

Cheers,

Jacek

Re: Is this a real cat?

Wow, Jacek... That is one detailed answer!
I can only answer back one of the questions. I think you are talking about our neighbor's cat Leo. Well, he is doing great and getting fatter everyday. The only problem is that my wife and Leo are having an affair. He sits on her lap to get brushed, and they both travel to "LaLa" land together.

Re: Is this a real cat?

Your cat with black-ended ears looks rather like some sort of baby-lynx (that's the only possibility, or perhaps your friend Soltan is right, this is a toy...).
Since cats belong to mountain landscapes, why creating a CatPost.org ?
As for bikes, this is a bit different, you know my opinion... When will we start by the way a site dedicated to cycling cats ? :)

Re: Is this a real cat?

To Marc,
Thanks for inspiring Marc. Sorry to hear about the problem with Leo. If I were you, I'd try to explain to the wife that he just feels like getting even fatter and there's nothing more behind it, or I'd just look for my Shangri La in the Sierras:-)

Re: Is this a real cat?

To Eric,
Listen Eric – this is NOT my cat. I do prefer rabbits. But I find hiking/cycling (and) cats OK, such as those you've attached here, and I do appreciate your mbpost works.

Re: Is this a real cat?

you didn't quite answer my question, wasn't your cat another animal ?
as for the reason-to-be of MBPost, I agree with you: some descriptions of cycleable mountains have a lot of duplicate content compared to SP, but on the other hand there are some cycling trails that woudn't have their place here on SP (like "around the Tatras")

Re: Is this a real cat?

1 I've heard some call it a lynx :-)
2 But if cats and dolphins have their place, surely the flat cycle routes of Wrocław could as well, not to mention Wzgórza Strzelińskie, where I've both hiked and biked.

Re: Is this a real cat?

I agree...
Why don't you create an MBPost account so you could vote for my pages ? :)

Re: Is this a real cat?

Sorry, too lazy plus hardly any pix, I'd be a powerless voter anyway:))

A cat is a very enigmatic

animal, a paradox so to speak. I don't think
people PERRR-fer to vote on cats, because
when people journey into the mountains, the
cats usually are content to remain at home.

Of course, this would be different for people
who actually LIVE in the mountains. A
so-called "Mountain Kitty" would probably
not be scared of snow, wind, icicles and
joyous laughter coming from mountaineers
enjoying the freedom of the hills.

If a cat is a symbol for FREEDOM, then I am
all for that and it most certainly deserves
my vote.

If it is a "red-coloured cat," then I will
probably want to hug it, but STILL give it
all the freedom it longs for ... until the
end of time.

To Larry,
I guess this must be the great kitten you're talking about

Re: A cat is a very enigmatic

Yes, but the funny thing is, I have never met
this cat in person. I can only hope that
someday I will make the fateful journey across
the "Big Pond" and discover the mysteries
that seem to make life worth living.
