A litle hike up from the enchanment lakes, and a beautiful view
Easy walk up the north side, beautiful day with great views. Tried to come back June 2011 to camp on the summit, but the climbing legs weren't in good enough shape yet.
I must say its a worthy visit, been wanting to do it for some time, especially when I would see it from Easton from the south.
In a two-day span with great weather and great snow conditions, Gimpilator, Josh Lewis, and I summited Colchuck Peak, then Dragontail Peak, then Little Annapurna, and finally Enchantment Peak. Over 10000' of cumulative elevation gain!
We waited a couple of hours after sunrise to ascend Little Annapurna, to give enough time for the snow to soften. Great views from the summit, but probably the least interesting peak of the four we visited on this trip. The next peak (Enchantment Peak) was a lot better.
This has one of the illest summit areas. I love the stone formations. We had a tricky descent trying to end up down by isolation lake.
Was initially aiming for Dragontail today, but the route was too corniced and avy prone to ascend, so opted for Little A, and was treated to a pleasant stroll through snowfields and 'enchanting' views.
What a view! Walked up this instead of climbing Prusik unfortunately (weather was no good). Still had enjoyable time in Enchantments before heading over to the west ridge of Stuart
No snow on this fall larch trip. The summit plateau with large blocks was a real surprise.
Hiked from the trailhead for Colchuck lake. We didn't have a permit, so we did it in one day. Beautiful but exhausting. Nearly 18 miles and over 6000ft elevation gain, and we finished in the dark. Definitely an area I will be going back to though.
A nice evening scramble up to the top after dinner. Great views.
Did this with four friends on a four day tour of the Enchantments. It was thier first time in the area and thier first big mountain.
Amazing views. The summit area looks like the ruins of an ancient castle.
Awesome climb with amazing weather.
Fun scramble to the top from the Enchantments. Finished it before breakfast.
Summit #3 on Day 2 of a 4 day romp through the Enchantments.
Combined with Colchuck, Dragontail, Witches Tower, and McClellan all in the same day. Came across Snow Creek Glacier from Witches Tower. Started from Colchuck trailhead.
Perfect weather. Did this as part of a day hike from Stuart Lake TH to Snow Lakes TH. Made for a long day with Little A. thrown in. Fun and easy scramble. Great view of Stuart and The Nightmare Needles.
Took the south-eastern route, a great class 3 hike / scramble. Amazing views, despite looming clouds.
