Yucaipa Ridge  Sucess!

Went up the gully & ridge just east of Camp Creek and followed the ducks and use trail to Yucaipa Ridge. Continued west and hit all of the peaks between LSG and Birch and returned to our car shuttle at Bear Paw. Clouds kept the temperatures down until we got down to the lower elevations where it got a little warmer. Nice day out with cdewhurst.

Yucaipa Ridge  Sucess!

Started from Vivian Creek trailhead up a gully east of Camp Creek to reach the Yucaipa Ridge (3,000 feet of gain to get to the ridge). Summited Little San G., then on to Wilshire Mountain, Wilshire Peak, Oak Glen Peak, Cedar Mountain, Birch Mountain, and finally the long, long trek over to Allen Mountain.

Wilshire Peak Trail  Sucess!

Had a miserable, clothes-ripping bushwhacking experience in the first half hour, just above the start at Pine Bench Road. Apparently, I did not start at the correct place or in the correct direction. After finding the trail and 4wd road, all was good. Reached the ridge west of the radio antennae and traversed east to Little San G. While the ascent was dry, on the south-facing slope, there was plenty of snow on top and on the north side of the ridge.

Yucaipa Ridge Hike  Sucess!

With Travis. We decided to postpone Galena Pk due to impending rain (never materialized) but hit this one plus Wilshire Mtn, Wilshire Pk, Oak Glen, Cedar, and Birch Mtns. The ascent steep and sustained but it was the descent, via a rocky, brushy gully, that was the excitement of the day.

From Old Vivian Creek Trlhd.  Sucess!

Actually a fun little trip. I most enjoyed it once when I did it in winter and had a very nice free heel ski down.
