Started at the Livingston Peak TH, which is accessed from Swingley Rd. Easy and straightforward approach. The summit pitch is steep, but there is a trail the whole way up. Clouds and weather ruined our view. It turned sunny as soon as we made it off of the summit. Bummer!
Beautiful summit with incredible views of Paradise Valley, The Absorkas, and the plains to the east. Wild flowers were great. 3 hrs round trip
Came up from the West Baldy trail. Gorgeous green trail with tons of flowers. A note to those thinking of taking the East Baldy trail from Mission Creek: DON'T!!! I wasted a day trying to make up way from there. Spent 2.5 hours trying to find the trailhead, then the trail itself had been landslided away in one spot, hadn't been cleared of trees in possibly a decade, and is completely overgrown with serviceberry, so overgrown that my legs are now shredded and all forward progress was impossible. I conceded after 1.5 miles. But the West Baldy trail is nice. Do that one.
Nice little hike with tremendous views. Worth it to walk along Suce Creek drainage and add a little extra distance. I really liked the saddle area.
3 1/2 hrs up, 2 down, just taking our time, beautiful day.
