Locked gate, which is your trailhead if you didn't get the key. Good parking is off to the right of here for a few cars.

Re: Cool photo of

I was amazed from the canyon formations, being my first time here. I wanted to explore these mountains since passing them on my way to Mt. Shasta a few months ago. The knob you speak of is up Seitz (not shits) Canyon, just east of Hennen Canyon… which would lead you to Mt. Stillman.

Room for parking?

Is there any problem with parking near this gate?

I'm thinking of doing this in early June (maybe).

Re: Room for parking?

The gated area occurs at a large bend in the road, which allows for a large entrance area to the gate. I had no problem finding a good spot away from the gate and that didn't block vehicles (which I was the only one).

Also my car was still there when I returned... I've read that there is no guarantee that towing won't occur, but also I haven't read of anyone getting towed. If you have the time, getting the key would be a plus.

I will finish the route info within a few days… work/wife have me buried.
