Lone Eagle Cirque

Lone Eagle Peak

Lone Eagle Peak

This is a nice shot of a portion of the Lone Eagle Cirque. The high point in the center of the photo is Iroquois Peak (12,799 ft.) Hopi Peak (12,780 ft.) is the high point on the far right. The undefined ridge running down from the summit of Iroquios leads past some high rock pinnicles called Limbo (12,420 ft.) The ridge eventually runs down to Lone Eagle Peak (11,940 ft). Lone Eagle Peak is actually the abrupt ending of a long skinny ridge. When viewed from the north Lone Eagle is an astonishing sight. When viewed from the summit of Mount Toll it's tough to locate. You can see this peak on the far right of the image about half way down where it looks like a small jagged mountain at the very end of the ridge. Some of the class 4 "Solo Flight" route on Lone Eagle is also shown. Maybe one day we will see the world famous Lone Eagle Peak added to SP, it would be a huge score for all of us here in Colorado.
