Lone Peak
I hiked this with the "Hike the Wasatch" group I met through Facebook. We started at the Peak View trailhead and we went up the Jacob's Ladder Trail. Once we got close to the cirque the scenery was amazing. From there it was short scramble to the top. It was a great day with a fun group!
Hi! Wondering about collecting water at the 'stream' marked on the alltrails description - it's marked as maybe 1000 ft. east of Ennis Peak at:
40.5151, -111.78055
Any beta for me? I'm looking at doing the hike next week and looking forward to it!

Since the lower portion of Jacob's Ladder is now a MTB-only trail, all foot traffic is now routed along the Peak View trail. Overall, one of my favorite peaks I've climbed in the Wasatch to date, not nearly as difficult or arduous as AllTrails reviews make it out to be. Imagine climbing up Mount Wire twice in a row, then ascending the Pfeifferhorn starting from Red Pine Lake, and you've got yourself a pretty decent mental image of what Lone Peak is like. Started at 6AM, back by 1PM due to an hour-long bushwhacking session after I lost the trail between the cirque and Enniss Peak. I hope to be back soon.

cherry canyon route
came up cherry canyon and the leaves were amazing. Went right past the cabin and spring but at the cabin instead of cutting right we went straight up the gully to the top to get a sick view of lone peak as we entered the cirque valley

Lone all-nighter to Lone Peak
I have two trip reports for Lone Peak, one describing the failure, and then one on the success. Was definitely a challenge. I had at first told myself that I'd car camp that Friday night. That definitely did not happen, for the excitement was too strong when I arrived at the TH near 10 p.m. Through the night I went, just in time to see the sun come up near the summit.

Lone Peak Via Cherry Canyon
Took cherry canyon logging trail up and summited with no problems, went down jacobs ladder to ennis peak and then met back up with the cherry canyon trail. 15.3 miles and 6,927 feet elevation gain.

Despite the sketchy climb to the summit block there were I'd guess over 2 dozen people to make the summit today. Felt way hot on the way back

Climbed with Kaden Robinson via Jacob's Ladder on a windy day. Summited in high winds and a brief snow storm. Incredible mountain!

Cherry Canyon>Jacob's Loop
Up Cherry Canyon and drainage, down part of Jacob's and looped back on the trail to Outlaw cabin.
Backpacked into the Cirque via Jacobs Ladder approach and climbed for 3 days. Lowe Route, Open Book, Center Thumb, The Answer, Pika Paradise. Incredible.
This was my first time up Lone Peak. This is a fantastic route. I started early to avoid as much of the heat as possible,as this is a South facing slope. There was complete solidarity. I didn't see a single other person from top to bottom. A few light rain showers and clouds made for some awesome pictures on the way up. Was able to spend a few minutes at the summit, but the wind picked up and I saw some storm clouds coming in from the east and from across Utah Lake. As such, I decided it was best to make haste down the mountain, and I was able to reach my car without being rained on.

Jacob's Ladder
Enjoyed the ascent of Lone Peak with a friend on a calm, clear Friday in summer (19 August).
The Jacob's Ladder trail was steep from Lone Rock to Draper Ridge, then quite pleasant up to the cirque. It was easy to get somewhat off course near the cirque, however, as there were cairns all over marking multiple routes (the lowest probably guides you to the climbing routes in the cirque, but I'm not sure). On the descent we did better, finding the best way down located high on the northern side of the drainage.
The scrambling on the final ridge was fun, though not as long as I had anticipated. It is exposed, but the Class 3 holds were big and solid, and there was plenty of room to maneuver and find the safest way to the summit.
The views from the summit were spectacular, even with summer wildfire haze obscuring distant peaks and ranges.
We carried a lot of water (over a gallon each) and still ran out before arriving back at the trailhead. I'll probably take the Cherry Canyon Logging Trail in the future to take advantage of the fresh spring found on that route.
The steep descent from Draper Ridge to Lone Rock was brutal on my feet, I should have cranked down my laces or done something different with my footwear. Even though they were well trimmed, I'm in the process of losing both big toenails due to slamming the front of my shoes. Oh well, it was a great day and absolutely worth it.
I'd list the steep section down from Draper Ridge to Lone Rock as another reason to perhaps choose the Cherry Canyon route over Jacob's Ladder.

Labor Day
Successfully summitted on a nice cool Labor Day. Exceeded my expectations! I was in my first actual summer of peak-bagging and was really challenged by this one. Ran out of water on the descent (pack more than 3L for this hike!)
Went up with Ken Little and hung out on top for quite some time...such an incredible day up there. Wanted to set the descent record down. Unfortunately hyper dorsi-flexed my ankle 3 minutes off the summit (still not running over a week later now) and hobbled my way for a couple miles, 20 and 15 minutes respectively. Ankle started to work better as the terrain eased and I made it down in 1:25. Wondering what I could do healthy!

Via Kewa/Open Book
Woke up at 9:30, which was fortunate since the couloir was icy for others who were up early. Set up a new route adjacent to Open Book called Kewa (5.10a). Finished the last 2 pitchs via Open Book with Duc and Matt. Bluebird day! Returned to the trailhead at 10:30 pm.
