Looking at Spanish Fork Peak...

Looking at Spanish Fork Peak from the Provo area. Mountains surround this area and Spanish Fork Peak looks resplendent in a winter coat. This view is to the southeast. 12-24-03

Burned

Excellent pic.

Worth mentioning: The west slopes are rather barren. This was not always the case. The darker areas of the photo are forested, and before the 1990's, all the north facing slopes were covered with a nice pine forest. In the 1990's, most of the west face of the mountain was burned in a forest fire, and now remains rather barren. If I remember correctly, it was determined that the forest fire was caused by fireworks.

Re: Burned

Thanks Scott and I wasn't aware that the area had burned. Fireworks, eh? Thanks for that interesting info.
