Looking down on the Capitol...

Looking down on the Capitol Reef and Waterpocket fold areas but as mentioned in prior pic, haze from fires in southern Utah reduced our views considerably.

Capitol Reef

It's one of my favorite places to go! We're on our way there this fall. Talk about solitude! We've sen Mt. Ellen from that area and have wondered about it. No more wondering now. Thanks for adding the pics and the page, Dean!

Re: Capitol Reef

My son in law is crazy about Capitol Reef and Canyonlands. He called this trip of 8 days in Utah a dream trip. We did 12 county highpoints and covered Hell's Backbone, the Burr Trail, as well as stops in Natural Bridges and Arches. The colors of southern Utah are stunning. And yes, there is plenty of solitude.
