Looking south from Pollesfernerkopf (3015m) along the ridge to the nearby Nördlicher Polleskogel (3035m)

... on the left, some 200m away. On the right, and a few kilometers further, is the glaciated Innere Schwarze Schneide (3367m).

Sudlicher Polleskogel

Hi rgg,
The mountain on the left is Sudlicher Polleskogel. See also this image from almost the same location:
The mountain you are standing on (where the photo is taken) is is Nordlicher Polleskogel (3015m). Perhaps another name for it is Pollesfernerkopf? Anyway, great pic. Lot's of snow compared to my photo in august. Cheers, Lodewijk

Re: Sudlicher Polleskogel

Yep, this was early summer, and on top of that there had been quite a lot of snow late in spring that year.

As for the names, that's a complicated story, so I've sent you an email about it.

Cheers, Rob
