I drove through here

back in the 1980s while on a field trip in my
Forestry class.

Actually, Sequim is located in the so-called
"rain shadow" of the Olympic Mountains.

That said, I wonder why the skies are gray?

Re: I drove through here

I can trust Larry to notice the gray day! Yes, "Squim" as the locals pronounce it, does have gray days but is generally quite sunny and thus, filled with retirees. One night at dinner we were treated to the loud conversation of the table next to us discussing how many hip replacements the two local specialists do in one day. Yuck!!!
Other than that the area was very nice and growing with new shopping centers and restaurants etc. Much more attractive than Port Angeles overall!

Re: I drove through here

I have a cousin in Port Angeles whom I need
to go visit.

My grandmother (bless her heart) had a hip
replacement when she was living in Puyallup.

I'm thinking that hip replacements and
shopping centers will be around for a very
long time.

I still miss the ocean, though!

Re: I drove through here

The area is beautiful as a whole though Port Angeles seems very dissected by roads. Puyallup seemed to be growing by the minute and felt like suburban Maryland!

We were very impressed by Sequim and truly enjoyed its small town feel and the strait
nearby.
