Lookout Mountain  Sucess!

Used the PCT variation. I may or may not have gone around a couple of 'No Trespassing' signs, and I may or may not have taken the firebreak to the summit.

PCT  Sucess!

Followed HPS Route 2 which was easy to navigate. Take the PCT to the saddle (0.5 mile), turn left and follow a use trail through the brush to a firebreak, and then follow that to the summit. No bushwhacking!

Trepassing Recommended!  Sucess!

My fifth HPS peak of the day. After chickening out on Cone Peak I decided to beat the crap out of myself in the thickets whilst searching for the elusive fire road which I don't believe exists anymore on the flats. I recommend following the approach road to up near the new barbed wire fence that prevents access to the road that contours up the mountain. From here leave the road and pick your route west through the "not too overgrown" thicket until you reach an obvious draw. Hop the fence here and head toward the "mouth" of the draw. Climb up the steep, yet forgiving embankment to gain the road. Follow the road west until it meets the firebreak and then follow the firebreak up to the summit.

I got some nice cuts like "theronmoon" trying to be "Johnny law-abiding citizen."

BTW, nice views on the summit!

Nice views!  Sucess!

Funny how a little peak can beat the crap out of you. Took the wrong ridge down and ended up in a ceanothus-chamise thicket. Tore my arms up mighty good and cussed a bit. But still a fun little peak.
