Perfect July day. Had the lookout to myself even on a summer Saturday.

Wild Wind!
I have just had too much fun spending random nights in the lookout! Decided to spend my veterans day weekend getting some studying done in the lookout. Sunday was cold with light wind and snow, but as darkness fell a rather large storm moved in with 40+ mph gusts and 3 ft of snow accumulation. Needless to say, it was a cold night and the lookout felt like it would fall over! Getting down was exciting with the greatly increased snow depth and avy danger.

Memorial Weekend
Sunset was stunning, sunrise even more so. Shared a watermelon in the lookout with a lovely group of friends.

Amazing sunsets
Spent two nights in the lookout with my brother and father. The trail up was steep, but smooth, and only a couple snow patches remain. We had the lookout to ourselves and the views were spectacular. I will certainly be returning many more times. Definitely a classic on my list.

Great Lookout
This will now be one of my traditional summer hikes that I will repeat every year. I have only visited a few lookouts but this one has to be one of the best kept. Snow began once past Monogram Lake junction.

Socked In and out
Great day trip with Josh and Joanna. (plus Holly and Rex) We got wet, talked about stuff and enjoyed the very well stocked lookout. I'd like to visit on a more scenic day.
The flies were not the worst I have ever encountered along a trail in the Cascades, but it was pretty close. Raymond had a hilarous (albeit still semi-effective) manner in which he waved his arms and trekking poles to swat flies. The weather was hot, so I appreciated finding several small patches of snow from which to fill my hat to help keep cool. The views were outstanding. Highly recommended!!!
I appreciated the views on the summit and the lookout itself. But the thing that stands out in my mind are the clouds of flies that harassed us in the middle portion of the trail. I've never seen so many landing on myself and others. Raymond, Craig, and Robbin kept a good attitude about it and the four of us had a great time.
