downclimbing face out, I dropped my pole down and it fell further than I intended. the rock on the left is actually separated from me by a large gap and was unreachable. To continue my downclimb I got rid of my bulky backpack and let it go, intending to drop it down to the next ledge. It bounced down ledge after ledge, into the snowy gully below, the down another 500-700 feet or so
