Lower Slide Lake

Lower Slide Lake

A wonderful backcountry campsite is located near this unnamed tarn which I've heard referred to as Lower Slide Lake. Slide Lake proper, out of view and several hundred feet upstream, is substantially larger. Both lakes were formed by a massive rockslide on Yellow Mountain (left) in 1914 that damed North Fork of Kennedy Creek (now known as Otatso Creek). Seward Mountain is in the far distance near center, with Gable Mountain on the extreme right. June 15, 2012
