Don't remember much except there being a lot of bugs and when we got back to the car we had left the keys in it and had to hike from the Garden into Keene Valley. Luckily we made it to the Noonmark Diner and rejoiced over sandwiches and soda!
Trail was pretty boring for the most part and the views were not to good from the summit, but check it off the list.

Incredible views of the great range with a lot of spring snow.

after Upper Wolf Jaw
After hitting Armstrong and Upper Wolf Jaw this was the last stop on my little loop hike from St. Huberts. I was a bit sluggish after going through the notch, and you're not even rewarded with great views from the summit, but hey woould you rather being watching TV? I didn't know which trail I should take back to St. Huberts, the Wedge Brook or the White trail. I decided on the Wedge Brook, because it was shorter, and from what I heard there wasn't ups and downs like the White.

Back to AMR
Coming from Upper, we dropped pack to pick this one off. Don't do what I did and leave your pack at the second trail juncture (which we had to come back to before heading back to the Lake Road/AMR. The first juncture is the JBL trail, second is Lower/AMR, and then there is another Lower/AMR. Wait for this third one, as there is a shortcut to the AMR trail. We probably wasted 0.3 miles.

Last of 4 peaks on Gothics Loop
Last one on a great day of hiking 4 summits, I guess we saved the most wooded summit for the end. Nice views if you look for them. Crowded on top due to the holiday weekend. My 17th 46er.

Great Range traverse attempt
Easy trail from Hedgehog. At this point I was still shaking off the morning yawns.
Lower Wolfjaw, 1/06 as part of Sawteeth/Lower Great Range traverse
"Sometimes the highest mountain is not the hardest one," said my new friend Rejean as we capped off our solo/tandem day on the Great Range by summiting LWJ. Little did we know that, as he went back down the way we came, I would end up getting lost on the unbroken trail toward Rooster Comb... see my log post on Gothics for more on this crazy hike.
Route Climbed: From Upper Wolfjaw Date Climbed: Oct 5 2003
Started at St Huberts, went up Gothics, then down the great range hitting Armstrong, Upper and Lower Wolfjaw. Great fall colors!. Early snow & ice made it kind of treacherous.
Route Climbed: Range trail from Rte. 73 Date Climbed: October 2003
Difficult conditions in mid october. The last .2 miles to the summit were difficult flows of ice. With no crampons we had to hand over hand up trees on the side of the trail. Going down the south side wasn't much better and it took us a long time to get back down to John's Brook valley. A nice view from the top of the upper wolfjaws though.
Route Climbed: Bennies Brook Slide Date Climbed: August, 2003
This summit is pretty lame, as far as ADK high peak summits go, but certainly worth the trip. We chose to spice the trip up by buschwhacking to Bennies Brook Slide and going up that way. It's a buschwhack off trail for most of the ascent.
The slide itself is wonderful. It's over 1 mile long and ascends over 1200 feet on an open slide. Great starter slide (provided you can find it). I took my kids (12 & 10) and they had a ball.
Route Climbed: Ausable Club, West River trail to Wedge Brook trail Date Climbed: Oct 11, 2003
Conditions warmer than expected, mid-70s and sunny. Started at the Ausable Club, took the West River trail to Wedge Brook trail. Ascends quick and steep for a rigorous climb. Found a few nice outlooks at the top. Worth the side-trip from the col.
