Blustery Summit
If you are going to American and Snow lakes, this is a very easy little "extra" to add to your day for some great views in to RMNP. When you arrive at American lake the trail will split left (south) toward thunder pass, and right (west) toward snow lake. If you have time after exploring the lakes, take the path south to thunder pass. From the pass, it's only another 30 minutes or less, depending on fitness level, to the peak.
The red tape section is a little out of date. State forest day pass is now $8, RMNP day pass is now $25.

Via Thunder Pass
Started from American Lakes Trailhead. Ascended to Thunder Pass. Reached Lulu summit then connected to Thunder. Then descended down the saddle between Iron and Thunder. Whole trip was super mellow. Needed snowshoes in the area above treeline and below the pass. Also needed when dropping down from the saddle.

Fun loop with Thunder and Neota
Up from Thunder Pass and then onto Thunder and Neota. A great ridge walk, all above tree line and not very difficult. Stupid amazing views of the whole park and the rest of the Never Summers. A must if you're in the area.
A nice summit after camping in the michigan lakes basin. Sweet backcountry camping and fishing. Good views of the northwestern section of RMNP. Great non-crowd access from Cameron pass area. Fun moose encounter and moose viewing!!

From Thunder Mtn
After summiting Thunder Mountain, I thought to myself why not, and headed over to Lulu Mountain. I then descended to Thunder Pass and down to the Michigan Ditch which lead to my car at Cameron Pass. Four summits from Cameron Pass for the day.

We came up from the Colorado River trailhead and climbed Lulu, Thunder, and Neota. There was a carcus of an Elk at the bottom of the pea gravel slope we decended to get off of Neota. I was cautious decending the slippery gravel so that I wouldn't end up the same way. It's not the shortest way to approach these mountains, but it is beautiful.

climbed (walked?) with ahansen54 to the summit. make sure to rope up on this tricky knife edge ridge... well, it may not be a mountaineering classic ... but cool views from the top.

I Climbed this peak on a beautiful Sunday morning from my campsite near Upper American Lake. This was a pleasant stroll compared to my struggles the day before on Nokhu Crags.
