Only ninety seven minutes to the top from the parking lot. If the old trail went up the way I think it did that must have been steep AF. The summit area was a bit separate from the tower in a very pretty grove of green alpine forest.

#2 With A Scenic Drive
Hiked up the new trail with a gradual ascent with no steep sections. It was a very hot, humid day with warnings all over the northeast, but really nice up in the mountains. I drove to Lyon Mt after hiking Azure Mt and had quite a scenic drive. The views on Lyon Mt were fantastic too. #2 in a 3-firetower-hike day for me.

Lofty Views
Steep hike near the summit. Nice lofty views of Lake Champlain from the summit and tower. Saw windfarms in the distance. Nice ledge overlooking Averill Peak nearby.
