South and North Peaks
Quick ~2 hour roundtrip jaunt to both summits. Getting over to the North summit was a little bushwacky. Park on Highway 89 and walk through the forest to the trail to avoid the asinine $10 "use fee" being charged by contracted concessionaire.
Made a loop of Eagle Lake, both Maggie's Peaks and Granite Lake. Fantastic view from the south peak. Fun scrambling on the north peak.

A glorious evening!
Started my day on the trail around 2:00pm. Their was a pretty decent wind advisory this day. Spent some time exploring the surrounding areas before and after summiting.

Granite Lake / Eagle Lake Loop
Beautiful day for a hike above Lake Tahoe's Emerald Bay. Started from Bayview trailhead. At saddle went out toward the north peak a few hundred yards, but decided scramble not advisable solo, so settled for easy south peak summit (higher!). From there continued southwest along easy slopes, no trail, down to catch the trail continuation to the junction with Eagle Lake trail, a longer way down, not as good a trail but not as steep. Prepare for crowds from Eagle Lake out to trailhead.
Fun early morning hike from Bayview TH, started at 6:30 and was able to park all the way at the end of the campground next to the TH, first to higher south summit which was easy, then a bit more exciting traverse over to the lower north summit. Back to the TH by 9:30. TR is HERE.

Fun, but steep, hike from Bayview. Not too crowded on the trail, but Emerald Bay was a zoo below.

Fun Morning
A nice class 3 scramble up the North peak (easier route found on way back) and forest hike up the South peak.

South Peak on Snowshoes
Snowshoed up to the peak from the Bayview Trailhead. Warm day (~38-44 degrees) with mediocre/poor snow conditions--though there is quite a bit of snow compared to last year. After summiting, seeing I had quite a bit of spare time, I traversed over to frozen Dicks Lake. Overall, a beautiful day in a beautiful area.
Went up with Cedar and Pat. Would have climbed the north peak but they convinced me to go around and down to Cascade Creek on the way back.

Nice hike with my wife. Great views of Tahoe and to the west as well. Late start kept us from getting to Dicks and Jacks Peak.

North Peak
Had a couple of hours while the family was laying on the beach at Camp Richardson. Found, to my happy surprise, some interesting class 3-4 scrambling on the north peak. A perfect mini hike with stunning views of Desolation and LT.

South Peak
Began route from Highway 89 and traversed a backcountry canyon on the north side of Mt. Tallac. Accended the south buttress to the south summit. Spectacular view of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding lakes.
