Easy summit in very dry part of the Olympics. Great views towards Royal Basin summits and Cameron Basin.

First Olympics Hike
First hike in the Olympics. Obstruction point was closed due to a fire so we did Hurricane ridge from Deer Park. Perfect hiking day.

From Deer Park
Easy day hike on a rare blue sky day. Easiest path from Deer Park is to walk a bit past the summit west to the saddle and ascend the western side.

nice hike
the peak itself consists of three humps, the central on being the highest. coming from deer park, you can't really see that until you are atop the central summit, so don't jump the gun, wait for the second one. Coming from Obstruction Point it quite obvious.
Deer Park road is open and dry but Obstruction Point road just opened yesterday to trailhead. No snow on trail between Deer Park and Elk Mountain, just a couple small crossings total beyond that to Obstruction Point.
Perfect day, perfect weather. The trail is in great shape. Heck, even the privy at the parking area was clean. Wonderful!

From Deer Park
Started at Deer Park and made it to the top. Beautiful views from the top. I don't think we could quite see Olympus, but we could see all the Needles and tons of other mountains, along with Victoria and the Sound. Worth the hike. There is no vehicle fee for entering the park on Deer Park road either, which is certainly a plus. Will try to post some pictures when I get them from my friend that had the camera.
