Mailbox Peak Talus Slope

Mailbox Peak Talus Slope

Looking down the southwest talus slopes of Mailbox Peak, from near its summit. The standard route/trail goes around the talus slope, but the exposed talus slope provides an alternative, especially during snow-covered periods in Spring, for hikers to avoid dangerous rock-wells hidden by snow. Photo taken on May 2, 2009.

Yes

Several days after I took this photo, I heard that a firefighter had accidentally left his helmet on the mountain, but then went back and found it after someone else posted a similar photo of it online.
