Not easy but rewarding  Sucess!

In a team of two with yatsek from SP. Route and conditions well described in his climber's log entry. Camping at the Jezerce lakes was the highlight of this episode, along with summiting Maja Jezerce, of course. Must say I did not enjoy the chossy couloir and the time-consuming route finding in the rock maze above the lakes, but they were part of the adventure. Due to the time lost, the end of the descent stretched well into the night - we eventually reached our car at 1am on the second (well, third) day of this epic trip.

Long & beautiful day in the Accursed Mountains  Sucess!

DId Maja Jezercë in a very knackered condition after two previous days of hiking.

Got warned a lot about it taking 14-16 hours but I did it in 8-9 hours up and down.

Started from near Rragam. Took a taxi from Valbonë.

Take a right on the split near the poles. Right goes to Jezercë and straight to Valbona Pass

Two-day there-and-back hike  Sucess!

We (Peterbud and I) started from the car park at Grlja Falls in the afternoon of 24/8, passed the abandoned Katun Zastan (a pipe with drinking water by the trail, past the dilapidated cottage), crossed the border and pitched our tents on the dry bottom of the first tarn. The next day we carried on up the red and white marks to the summit. Above the highest lake, in the maze of moraine-and-karst terrain, full of huge blocks and deep holes, the marking was poor and misleading; there were also cairns along an alternative path which seemed to be more convenient. (On the way back I lost my way and struggled to get back on the right path for about half an hour.) The couloir near the summit, which is the crux of the route, turned out to be a rather easy YDS class 3 scramble (no artificial aids), but was full of really awful scree. On the summit we were surprised by the number of hikers (a few dozen), most of whom had come from Valbonë.

Buni Jezerce  Sucess!

A 2 day trip from Vusanje. We camped near the last lake which was almost dry and started really early on the next morning. Going through the couloir was risky especially on the way down because of the lousy rocks and stones. Be very attentive when there are other people besides you in that section of the route!

From Buni Jezerce  Sucess!

Nice climb(after bivouac in Buni Jezerce valley) with a few more demanding sections in the narrow, snowy couloir leading to summit dome area. Classic, marked route when taking Maja Jezerces from Montenegrin side. Summit panorama just kicks ass.
Descent the same way down to Zastan and Ropojana valley.

Whole Prokletje mountains left some incredible impressions in my mind, valleys and peaks, great people, extremely picturesque, fairytale and still undiscovered area that you want to come back on the nearest possible occasion.

Maja e Jezerces  Sucess!

A great full day trip from Ropojana. The valley with the lakes is beautiful and the views from the top are just great. The final ascent from the saddle not very easy, even though there was no snow in the couloir.
