Male Mallard Duck floating down the River Tabor

Mallard Ducks (Anas platyrhynchos) are the most common wild ducks in the Low Beskid. They like mountain streams that are rich in vegetation. They are omnivorous, but prefer aquatic plants. Their nests are well hidden and often built very far away from water. When winter cold comes mallard ducks travel south. The Low Beskid - The River Tabor - September 14, 2007.
