Re: Great adventure

Thanks, Mike! No special powers of acclimization to brag about here - I suffered greatly above 8000m and spent 4 months cycling through the Karakoram and two previous 7000m peaks along that journey :)

Patience and respect with acclimization is key!

re Great Adventure

Great adventure indeed! Great read! An armchair adventure for today's Covid lockdown, thanks! In 1986-89 I cycled west china and climbed Manaslu to the summit plateau. Our team of 6 were alone on the hike in and climb. So different now. xox Keith

Re: re Great Adventure

Glad you enjoyed in these physically boring times. Where did you start for this adventure, exactly? Sounds amazing! Do you have a writeup?!

I started in Tashkent Uzbekistan with my bike, but only made it as far as Gilgit, Pakistan before I gave up on the cycle. Much different now. It's a 'hardcore tourist destination' at this point. I'd be so stoked if you could share your experience. All the best.
