You're back!

Did you get a new camera?

Re: You're back!

Nope, just new technique. I've had this camera since February, although I am already considering investing into a new camera. Using a video camera is harder to use although after tweaking with it last night I changed a mode that made it about two times easier to use by avoiding a screen change while focusing.

Martin Benchmark

Martin Benchmark is probably a better name for this point than Martin Peak. For one there are already four other Martin Peaks in the state, and for two there are no Martin Benchmarks, and for three it is lower than "Spinnaker Peak" next door and therefore has very little prominence.

Re: Martin Benchmark

Your wish is my command. The title has been changed, as usual I appreciated your advice. I actually hesitated at first until I saw the post on peakbagger that called it "Martin Peak" which is why I had it titled that.

Nice Work!

I really like your use of video clips, panoramas and gpx files as well. This is a very technically advanced peak page.

Re: Nice Work!

Thanks Adam! I considered not using the videos because my brother criticizes them for being too silent but I figured it portrayed the landscape good and the minor wind noises help give the page a "mountain feeling". After all I did bring up my HD Video camera up which I figured I might as well make good use out of it. As for the panoramas, they were perhaps the most technical part. At first I attempted to make one big panorama which worked but had too much up and down which when came time to crop out the blank area it took too much out of the photo. So I ended up having to play around with the stitching until I had to break it up into multiple panoramas. The gpx file I used google earth for, and then I used a little bit of tables in the page which took a while to make but for me it's fun making a page as detailed as possible. I know I appreciate it when others do the same and I am looking for route beta.
