GMS climbers descend from a long day on Going to the Sun Mountain, with Matahpi Peak looming above. The South Slopes route is seen in this photo, pralleling the cliff edge all the way to the summit. This scrambling on loose talus was very similar to Colorado's San Juan Mountains. The view off of Matahpi's three thousand foot east face was a great reward for such an easy climb.
