Mauna Kea
Hawaii's highest volcano, as seen from the western coast, at dawn.
The pond in the foreground is artificial, built as a water hazard for a golf course; the water is piped a great distance. The palms were transplanted recently. Mauna Kea blocks essentially all the rainfall, so the western (lee) coast is mostly lifeless, until you gain some elevation.
The lack of rain would be good for golfers, but it's usually windy.
