Me leading Pitch 2 of The El...

Me leading Pitch 2 of The El (5.8), a classic route on Pitchoff Chimney Cliff, above Cascade Lake. The move around the corner leads to an exciting and very exposed hand-traverse of 40 ft to a tiny belay stance below the beautiful crack/corner of Pitch 3. The crack leading directly up the corner in this photo is Pete's Farewell (5.7), another Pitchoff classic.

Re: WOW!!

Thanks Liz! I've been having a very good season this year on rock. I'm really not ready for the season to end, but I have NZ to look forward to. It seems you have a new addition to your family...congrats!

Takes me back...

Good to see that picture. Takes me back to doing that route in 1979 or so. And others on that fine little cliff as well. Hey, for climbs in that grade, how about that "overhanging gutter" across the way there..?
