Me on the chossy

Me on the chossy "Lightning Pyramid" - UN 13,631 traverse

Me on the chossy traverse from "Lightning Pyramid" to UN 13,631. I had just climbed down the manky dihedral feature above me. Loose rock is a signature of Colorado's beautiful Elk Mountains. August 2007.

Re: Where is your...

Guilty as charged... I have a bad habit of not wearing my helmet as much as I should. I'm getting better about it though, I swear.

nice, Dominic!

Awesome profile pic! I need to get up those choss piles this summer. That is a nasty looking dihedral!

pretty hairy

Impressive downclimb with no gear. I'd be worried about having one of those big blocks take me with it.

Re: pretty hairy

Thanks. We too were worried about that. It was a very slow and careful process.

Wow!

Nice shot. I remember camping at Crater Lake a few years back and staring up at Len Shoemaker Ridge. I made a crude sketch of the amazing towers there. Would love to get back out in that area someday. Stay safe on that nasty rock!

Re: Wow!

Thanks! The Crater Lake area is incredible, its no mistake the Bells appear in so many photographs. Don't blame you for wanting to get back, I'm fortunate enough that its only a 4 hour drive for me.
