with some friends from the Wasatch Mountain Club. We hiked to Dude BM by the standard Ensign Peak trailhead route, and returned via Meridian Peak / BST. 13 miles round trip. Marker not found - presumed stolen.

Interesting Views
Lots of mud and snow to contend with as we came down from Dude Benchmark. Nice views of the Great Salt Lake and to the north. Beautiful day!

Ensign to Meridian
From Ensign Peak we took the old jeep trail up the ridge and passed the towers down to Meridian. A rather underwhelming peak in and of itself but the views of the Wasatch Range and the Great Salt Lake from the ridge made the hike worth it. Flowers are beginning to bloom.

Hike a Bike
Thought I had hit Meridian a couple of years ago but I was on the wrong side of the tower. Rode up Lost Lad today and hiked my bike up Meridian and bombed down the other side.

Via Ensign Peak
A "peak" in name only, but I was happy to do it, along with Ensign and Peak 6160 (City Creek BM?), on my first real hike in years.

From City Creek
Ran with Zac Marion and Matt Van Horn from City Creek Canyon up to the ridge and then down to the N. Salt Lake side. Picked up the trail to Meridian and hit the top and then dropped back into City Creek. Sweet 10 miler before work.

Meridian Peak
Done with Ensign Peak as a loop. A good one to hike in winter.
I climbed this peak many times from the mid-1980’s to around 1990. This because it is one of the easiest peaks to access using the city bus system and during this time period was before I was old enough to drive.
The peak was always done as a loop, always combined with Ensign Peak and sometimes with the interesting trail-less section of Hell Canyon between the two old closed Jeep tracks. Most of the time the climbs were with one or more if my bothers.
