Direct north buttress of Merriam
We took crampons in order to get to the start of the route. Good climb!

Merriam North Buttress
With Jessie from San Diego. Very straight forward climb, solid pro throughout. Summit ridge and descent are quick and easy compared to most. The bivy at the inlet of the 2nd lake is as good a bivy spot as any in the Sierras. Catches more late afternoon and evening sun then the 3rd lake bivy recommended in the guide. The approach and the descent are best done via the direct route. We had tons of sunshine to spare. I think we were at the summit around 1pm or so with a causal start.
