Tetons; they come in pairs!  Sucess!

Impromptu climb of the North Ridge. JHMG Philip, gave us this choice as a practice climb to prepare for the Grand. Not typically an option, but I'm glad our guide knew competent climbers when he saw them.

SW Couloir  Sucess!

Climbed up and down the SW coulior. Nice route, especially if you stay on the sides of the coulior and avoid the loose rock.

Middle Teton via Southwest Couloir  Sucess!

Slept in The Meadows. Long rocky slog to the saddle from there, but following the southwest couloir from the saddle is extremely straightforward.

Sweet Fall Climb (SW Couloir)  Sucess!

Excellent fall climb of the Middle Teton. Snow was still present at multiple points from the Meadows up to the saddle above Iceflow Lake.

The weather was absolutely perfect, calm even on top. A group of parachuters flew by less than 100 feet from the summit block while we were on top.

We also crossed paths with a bear on the switchbacks before entering Garnet Canyon. There is still disagreement in the group whether it was a black or grizzly bear.

Via SW Couloir  Sucess!

Non-technical route, but very steep and loose toward the summit. Chilly breeze at the top, but great views of the Grand. 14 miles, 12 total hours.

SW Couloir in pea soup  Sucess!

Hiked up the SW Couloir in a thick pea soup from camp at the Meadows. Fog cleared quickly right as we got to the summit making for some incredible views. Quick jaunt up the South before heading back to camp and hiking out.

Hey guys, good to see you up there!

Re: SW Couloir in pea soup

Yeah, you too Sen! We're gonna have to stop meeting in WY like this. Maybe we should just start coordinating our future trips up there and save some gas money :)

to the saddle

Got a late 8:30 start so I didn't make in time since rain was imminent. There was more snow crossing than I expected and my approach shoe footwear made it slow going. Crampons would have made crossing the snowfields faster and safer. Had to self-belay with my ice axe a couple of times.
