Easy descent  Sucess!

Quick and easy route down from the mountain if it's getting dark. Wonderful views of the lakes and don't forget to explore the old mine (take a headtorch).

great hike  Sucess!

Great Hike up and some stunning gorgeous scenery along the way! Would like some suggestings for a more challenging climb up next time. It was also very busy which took a bit of the shine off as it was full of kids and youth groups all messing around but a good hike up!

August 1992

This was the first of the two times I climbed Snowdon. Miners Track is as easy as anything as far as the foot of Snowdon - a broad dirt road - but then it gets pretty steep and slippery; I believe to remember that in certain spots there was no trail at all. I reached Snowdon in time to be in heavy fog, which fortunately lifted again and let me enjoy the view coming down via Y Lliwedd.

broken wrist - but not that day

Did this on a misty day - with my arm in plaster! I had a broken wrist but had to wear half a yard of plaster as it healed.
Got some worried looks from people passing us on their way up as we went down. Probably thinking "is it really that difficult further up?"
(date not confirmed, can't remember exactly)

Starting around the age of 11 (and no doubt more times to come). Winter, summer, sun, fog, rain, snow, seen it all on this route, sometines on the same day.

Good scenary  Sucess!

Beautiful route beside the lakes and can always carefully venture into the odd mine (very wet and dark). The route has changed over the years and there are now some huge deep rock crevasses. I find with the introduction of the steps at the upper section where it joins the Pyg can be very hard on the knees and when wet/icy dangerous.
