Re: ****Pee bottle! LOL! Misha was complaining that one of the side effects of Diamox was that it made him pee all the time. Small price to pay for greatly improved acclimatization.
Definitely in liters, that one.

Re: ****Nice one, Rich. I knew that this one is coming :)
Seriously, Diamox made me constantly thirsty. I had to drink 2-3 times more than usual to stay hydrated. I guess it is a part of how it works.

Re: ****Diamox made you really thirsty? I've tried keeping a bit of gatorade powder with me to mix in my water, I was once told that potassium loss is a side effect of using it, which in turn makes a fella thirsty. Never bothered me after that!

Re: ****Actually, the liquid in a bottle is water mixed with Cytomax powder (Orange flavor if you are wondering about the color:). Cytomax should work similarly to (or better than) Gatorade. So I doubt that it is a lack of potassium that dramatically increased my thirst. Normally, it takes me 1-2 quarts of water per 4-5,000' gain in the backcountry. This time it took over 3 quarts and it was not even hot and humid. I am pretty sure that it was a side effect of Diamox.
