Hiked through fog and mist  Sucess!

I hiked via the Mishe Mokwa trail on March 5, 2016. The day was foggy with light mist falling the entire trip. That meant there were no views, but there were some benefits to the weather: It was cool, and the chaparral was green and verdant. There were also numerous gorgeous flowers. At times it felt like I was walking through a rain forest rather than through a rather dry Southern California landscape.

Beautiful  Sucess!

Really nice and easy trail. Lady bugs were everywhere. It was great. Yerba Buena Road is fun. This is a much better way up to Sandstone Peak than the Sandstone Peak Trail.

Hiked the loop of Mishe Mokwa and Backbone in both directions a few times. Gorgeous area.

Afternoon run  Sucess!

Ran this loop on my way home from work. Hit Sandstone peak on the way out. Mishe Mokwa trail looks very new and is not worn in yet. It was in the shade in the afternoon 4pm. Long drive but Yerba Buena Rd is a nice alternative to Kanan or Malibu Cyn if you got to get from the coast to the 101.
