Backpacked in late Friday. Had just enough time to get Missouri and Iowa, but ran out of time on Emerald Peak.

West Ridge
The West Ridge is not great - the 4x4 road is very rough and will really jar you (especially if you're hungover). The trail is crappy compared to the standard trail - there are hardly any switchbacks or steps, and it is extremely steep. Stick to the standard route.
Started at Missouri Gulch TH. First two miles were steep. Great wake up in the morning. Beautiful meadow to a ridge with fantastic views. After summit, dropped off the east ridge. Things then got interesting. Back to the TH in 8.5 hours. While your doing this hike, better off baggin Belford and Oxford too. And Iowa and Emerald if your into the century club!

Long time ago
Date is a guess, from the few years I lived in Colorado.
Another slow start to the snow this year in Colorado allowed us to drive to Rockdale and day trip Missouri's west ridge in winter. Some loose rock to get on to the ridge proper, probably would have been better to travel a little farther south before picking up the ridge. Summit ridge has one tricky spot just before the summit, there is a tricky snowfield below some towers, as the season progresses this can be a slide hazard possibly requiring you to go over towers.

An under-appreciated ridge
With Megan and Katie, both 12. Camped in Missouri Gulch, close to the turn off to Belford. Up via the standard route, and then back along the splendid curving N ridge until more or less directly above our campsite: steep drop off.

Weekend in SAwatch
Princeton and Missouri weekend Combo. West ridge is a long trip when you don't make it across the creek with your car. The grassy slope is very exhausting. Long day with nasty winds and clouds but the mountain is incredibly colorful.

Great summer climb!
Sunny going up until the clouds moved in. Little bit of sleet/hail on the descent, no worries about thunder/lightning. Less then 7 hours round-trip. Very scenic ridge.

NW Ridge
Perfect spring day. The east slopes leading to the NW ridge made a great snow climb and quick descent. View to Huron and Apostles was fantastic!
