Monitor Ridge approach

This is the view as you exit the woods at the base of Monitor Ridge. The promontory at upper right in the photo is a landmark that makes it easy to spot the route from anywhere on the south side of the mountain - you can see it (poking above the red route line) from the Climber's Bivouac parking lot. The trail follows the rocky spine that runs down from climber's left of the promontory, but in good snow conditions it's easier to stay on the snow.
